Vanilla cake recipe
Ingredients
- 200 g wheat flour
- 100 g potato flour
- 200 g soft butter
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
Instructions
Warm the eggs and butter. Grease the cake tin with butter, sprinkle with flour or breadcrumbs. Preheat the oven to 170°C.
Cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla extract until fluffy (about 10 min). Add one egg yolk at a time and a spoonful of the flour mixture (wheat flour, potato flour and baking powder). Finally, add the rest of the flour and mix.
Beat the egg whites until stiff, and gently mix them into the dough.
Pour the mixture into the pan, bake for about 45 minutes (check with a toothpick). Cool in the pan, turn out onto a wire rack when slightly warm, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
