Recipe for eggs stuffed with tuna
Ingredients
- 10 hard-boiled eggs
- 1 can of tuna in olive oil
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons chopped chives
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped red pepper
- 10 green olives
- pepper
- lemon
Instructions
Hard-boil the eggs by placing them in cold water and cooking for about 8 minutes from the moment they come to a boil. Once cooked, peel the eggs, trying to keep the whites intact. Cut each egg lengthwise into two equal halves.
Carefully remove the yolks from the whites so as not to damage their edges. Crush them with a fork until fine. Add mayonnaise to the crushed yolks. Mix the mixture thoroughly and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Place the prepared yolk mixture back into the egg white cavities, creating the first layer of filling.
Drain the tuna from the oil, transfer to a separate bowl and break it up into smaller pieces with a fork. Add finely chopped red pepper to the tuna, which will give the stuffing color and crunch, and chopped chives for a fresh aroma. Mix everything thoroughly and season with freshly ground pepper to taste. Place the prepared tuna stuffing on top of the yolk layer in the eggs, gently forming mounds.
Garnish the stuffed eggs with olive slices, which will not only enhance the flavor but also give the appetizer an elegant look. Arrange the finished eggs on a platter or decorative plate. Before serving, chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes so that the flavors of the stuffing combine well. Serve with lemon wedges.
