Ingredients
Ingredients for meatballs
- 400 g minced meat
- 1 small onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
- salt, pepper, dried oregano or basil
- 2 tablespoons of oil for frying
Sauce ingredients
- 1 can (400 g) of chopped tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- salt, pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Pasta
- 400 g spaghetti
- parmesan and fresh basil to serve
Instructions
Finely chop the onion and garlic. Put the minced meat in a bowl, add the onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and herbs. Mix everything thoroughly and form small meatballs. Heat the oil in a pan, fry the meatballs on each side until golden. Set aside for a moment.
In the same pan, heat olive oil, add chopped garlic and fry briefly. Add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar and herbs. Cook for 10 minutes, until sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
Add the fried meatballs to the sauce and simmer, covered, for about 10 minutes until they are soft inside.
Cook the spaghetti al dente in salted water, drain and transfer to plates. Top with meatballs and sauce. Serve sprinkled with grated parmesan and garnished with fresh basil leaves.
