Ingredients
Ingredients for the dough
- 4 eggs
- 1 and 3/4 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 8 tablespoons of oil
- a pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Icing
- A few spoons of Nutella
Instructions
Preparation of the dough
Separate the yolks from the whites, place the whites in a clean, dry bowl. Add a pinch of salt to the whites and beat with a mixer until the mixture is thick and stiff.
When the foam is ready, gently add the yolks and beat everything thoroughly with a mixer. Then pour in the flour mixed with baking powder and cocoa, pour in the milk and oil, stirring all the time. Use the mixer at the lowest speed.
Before baking, heat up the waffle iron and lightly grease its plates with a brush soaked in oil. Pour about 5 tablespoons of batter into the center of the lower plate of the waffle iron, close the device and bake until the waffles are crispy. Baking time is about 5 minutes, but may vary depending on the waffle iron model.
Place the cooked waffles on a wire rack to keep them crispy. If the waffles are too soft, it is possible that the waffle iron was not heated enough or the batter was too runny.
Preparing the icing
Spread the prepared Nutella mixture over the waffles.
